South of England smoothies HONNE are releasing their new EP, Coastal Love, in just a few short weeks. We've already got a flavour of the new record, courtesy of the title-track's romantic, rich sonic textures and perfumed lyrics, but the guys have thrown a bit of a curveball with this most recent cut, a cover of San Francisco funk artist Darondo's 'Didn't I' - featured on Breaking Bad and previously reimagined by XL crooner Jack Peñate. It's got all of the soul and character of the original, just drenched in waves of warm, melodic synth and pulsating falsetto harmonies; one of our favourite HONNE recordings so far. - DC
